CBS Radio National Branding Campaign Update: Trailways corporate offers Stockholder companies in major markets a national branding campaign through the CBS Radio. Motor Carrier Safety Compliance Class – Rick Gobbell, Gobbell Transportation (TN), is checking interest to sponsor another Motor Carrier Safety compliance class in Nashville this year for the bus industry (25 students min/35 max).  This is a Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) class taught by Rick Gobbell.  TSI is the only class for a U.S. DOT Certificate of Completion.  Contact him gobbell49@comcast.net or 615-513-2672.

Interactive Bus Map for Washington, DC: The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has a new interactive Truck and Bus Routes and Restrictions map. Share this guide with your DC-bound bus drivers.   It shows where buses can load and unload, park and the best routes for buses.

The Silver State Mainline is up and running – Silver State Trailways’ daily service between Reno, NV (Doyle, CA) to North Las Vegas has launched.  It is called the Silver State Mainline.

Senate DOT appropriations bill would set e-log, CSA safety fitness determination deadlines (Overdrive, 6/9/14) via ABA – The Senate’s annual appropriations bill would prevent FMCSA from delaying a final ELD rule and its long-planned Safety Fitness Determination rule under CSA. http://bit.ly/1qo1GiC

House votes to block FMCSA’s attempt to hike carrier insurance minimums (Commercial Carrier Journal, 6/10/14) via ABA – The U.S. House voted June 9 to add an amendment to its version of an annual DOT funding bill to stop the agency from increasing the minimum amount of liability insurance carriers must have. http://bit.ly/1pGLI3q. Prevost wraps Burlington Trailways Bus for Sweden US Road Trip

A special Burlington Trailways Sweden 3Prevost deluxe coach has been beautifully wrapped for SWEDEN ON THE ROAD. The trip, organized by the Embassy of Sweden’s Public Diplomacy program, toured the California Coast this week to “showcase Sweden as a free trade nation.” Ambassador, Björn Lyrvall was on board.

New Line Run for Silver State Trailways Will Connect Reno & Las Vegas areas

SILVER STATE TRAILWAYS DEVELOPS RENO (DOYLE, CA) TO LAS VEGAS, NV LINE RUN

New Intercity Fixed Route Will Extend Public Transportation Service in Nevada

Silver State Trailways of North Las Vegas, Nevada is proud to announce their new intercity fixed route bus service Silver State Mainline between Doyle, CA and Las Vegas, Nevada, connecting 10 cities, unincorporated areas, military installations, Native American and rural communities.  These areas are underserved by public transportation currently.

The line run bus stops will be from Doyle, CA, located 45 miles northwest of Reno, NV with stops in these Nevada towns:  Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fallon, Hawthorne, Tonopah, Beatty, Pahrump, and finish in Las Vegas.

Silver State Mainline initial service will provide two round trips along the proposed service with Doyle, CA departure time beginning at 8:15 am and arriving in North Las Vegas at 6:45 pm. The buses will depart from North Las Vegas at 7:45 am and arrive in Doyle, CA at 6:15 pm.

The line run will also provide additional interconnectivity with Greyhound interlining at both ends of the routes in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Silver State Trailways looks to extend transportation options to these communities increasing resident mobility, economic opportunity and quality of life.

Silver State Trailways will also be working to courier packages along the proposed service corridor.
