Trailways Expands Affiliated Partners Program with New “Travel & Leisure Group”

Formed for Hospitality Industry Seeking Bus Group Business


Fairfax, VA—May 13, 2016 – The Trailways Transportation System (Trailways) is expanding its Affiliated Partner program with the addition of a new industry-related membership subset — called the Trailways Travel & Leisure Group.

The Trailways travel and leisure group includes destinations, attractions and amusement parks; hotels and restaurants, theatrical productions, music and entertainment venues; casinos; cruise ship lines, airlines and rental car companies, and many other travel-leisure providers.


“The traveling public will benefit from this new group of travel and transport-related providers,” said Ron Moore, Trailways Chairman. “Bus groups traveling with Trailways companies may be able to gain better access to events, or perhaps better pricing, through Team Trailways.”

Moore also stated the special membership group will help strengthen Trailways’ overall strategic marketing goal—providing not only heighten and expanded visibility to those members from this group, the Trailways brand as well as added value to its network of stockholder carriers.

Recruitment for the new travel and leisure group commenced last month; already, more than twenty entities have joined.

Trailways’ travel-leisure group members include hotels and entertainment venues in popular group tour destinations such as Atlantic City, Branson, Pigeon Forge, the Ozarks and Lancaster as well as national hotel brand, Pillar Hotel Group.

“Creating a special place for these great supporters of the motorcoach industry, particularly with the well-known and respected transport brand of Trailways—will allow more companies who wish to expand their marketing and visibility efforts to enjoy a great return on their relationship investment. We anticipate that Trailways stockholders will take advantage of greater opportunities to increase awareness and business with potential group travelers,” Moore said.

Prior to this, Trailways’ Affiliated Partner program offered two business affiliation subset categories; Affiliated- and Preferred Partners; both areas are composed of primarily of bus & coach vehicle manufacturers as well as other products, programs and operated-related services.

The program has flourished with more than 100 sustaining members and a sold-out exhibitor event at the annual Trailways conference.   “It is a vital part of the Trailways organization with many companies providing ongoing sponsorship as well as several rebate programs,” Bob Greene, Trailways Affiliated Partner Committee Chairman, said.
